We are so sad to report that Sunny lost her battle with old age just shy of 16 years. She was laid to rest with her beloved son Whisky who succumbed to cancer after a very short but aggressive fight with the disease. Wayne and I were heartbroken having to make this toughest of decisions for two of our much loved family members, both on the same day.

Sunny is the result of an unusual set of circumstances. Her sire, an unknown yellow dog named Stephab Bobby (Nelson) came to us for some duck hunting training. Wayne and I were so impressed with this boy that we convinced his owner, a friend of ours, to track down his paperwork. Nelson was then put over a very nicely bred Beereegan bitch and she produced 3 yellow pups - 2 dogs and 1 bitch.
One of the boys ultimately became NTL RT Ch Terraway Sargeant Major (Major). Major's page can be found under "Owned by Others"
The only bitch in the litter, Sunny came back to Terraway as a 3yo so never trialled. Instead, she went on to produce some wonderful pups for us and as such, cemented her place in Terraway history as our foundation bitch.
Sunny's first litter was to Reveirter Jet Hawk RRD (Ned) owned by our good friend Leanne O'Sullivan. This mating resulted in

Sunny's second litter was then to Gr RT Ch Reveirter Jet Kite (Tike) owned by Noel & Kate Eltringham. This mating produced

Sunny's third and last litter was a repeat mating to Leanne O'Sullivan's dog Ned. Only two pups were produced this time

All in all, Sunny's time with us has been most remarkable. She came to us as a wild and unruly 3yo after a fairly rough start, settled into life with us and our dogs, produced some wonderful pups along the way and is now happily aging gracefully. These days her time is spent either sleeping in the shade or wandering along the channel bank with a dummy in her mouth while all the 'young 'uns' run amok!
